"Colourful, exotic and rich in contrast - the opening ceremony really turned out to be an intercultural highlight", Stefan Offermann reported after his return from India. April 4, 2011 is the New Years Day according to the Hindu calendar of Maharashtra State, i.e. a special happy day. Stefan Offermann and Dr. Wolfgang Schmid (both Managing Partners of BWF Group) had chosen this happy day to open the new factory in Pune, India.

Strong expansion to be expected in the coming years:
BWF Envirotec has been exporting filter bags for industrial filtration to India since more than 30 years. With about 1.1 billion inhabitants, India is the largest democratic state in the world. During the last few years, economic growth has always reached rates between 6 and 10%. The industrialisation of the country has been enormous. Thus, the demand of filter media for air cleaning and industrial dedusting is continuously rising. In 2008, the management decided to build up an own production site for bag making. The roll goods for the bags are mainly supplied by the subsidiary in Wuxi, China, but also from the headquarters in Offingen, Germany.

Unexpected break during the construction phase:
After foundation of the subsidiary BWF Tec India Pvt. Ltd. and acquisition of a 25,000 m² sized estate, the worldwide economic crisis brought the construction plans to an unexpected stop. In 2010, the project could be continued. The construction of the office and production building (approx. 2,000 m²) has been finished within only seven months. There could not be a stronger contrast between the brand new modern factory and the overall environment with unpaved streets and great poverty.

In his speech, Dr. Wolfgang Schmid gave a special thank to Project Manager, Mr. Georg Fock: "You and your experienced team from Offingen have done a great job!". Afterwards, a colourful opening ceremony according to Hindu religion started. Not only the official guests but all spectators were delighted by the exotic impressions. "Malice ghosts have also been banished", Stefan Offermann said with a smile.

The bag making production at the new site is already in operation. 20 employees are working there under the management of Vinay Karulkar. BWF Envirotec, India is the 8th international production site. BWF Group has again taken the pole position and is the first international supplier with an own factory in India.

"Hardik Subhechya" - good luck, as you say in India.
